McGee Brown to Join Ohio Supreme Court
Columbus Bar president, Hon. Stephen L. McIntosh, congratulates Yvette McGee Brown on her appointment to the Ohio Supreme Court. McGee Brown is a former member of the Columbus Bar Board of Governors, and served as judge on the Franklin County Common Pleas, Domestic Division, as president of the Nationwide Hospital Center for Child and Family Advocacy, and as a candidate for Lt. Governor before her appoint as a Justice.

Congress Votes to Exempt Lawyers from ‘Red Flags Rule’
With a vote of the House of Representatives, Congress has exempted lawyers from the so-called Red Flags Rule. Last month, the U.S. Senate also voted to protect attorneys and other professionals from having to comply with its record-keeping and safeguarding requirements.

New Courthouse Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Recap, December 16, 2010
The new Franklin County Common Pleas Courthouse was unveiled on December 16 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

What is Special About this Dog?
This dog, Alex, is being raffled off on December 22 as part of a Columbus Bar Association Alliance (CBAA) fundraiser supporting the Domestic Violence and Stalking Unit of the Columbus City Attorney’s Office.
Over $1,600 has already been donated; please help CBAA reach their goal of $2,000. Volunteers will be available at the Columbus Bar offices during CLE breaks on December 21 and 22 - if you will be here for a CLE seminar, please consider making a donation to support victims being assisted by the DVSU.
