Self-Study Cap Waived for 2019-20 CLE Compliance Period
Due to the CDC recommendations against gathering in large groups, the Supreme Court of Ohio has announced that the self-study cap will be waived for the 2019-20 CLE compliance period (ending Dec. 31, 2020).
Accordingly, attorneys and judges with last names beginning with M-Z may complete all CLE requirements through approved self-study courses ("online CLE") for the compliance period ending Dec. 31, 2020. CLE requirements may also be completed through live interactive webinars, which are viewed remotely and count as Live CLE credit.
This waiver has not been granted to attorneys and judges with last names beginning with A-L for the 2020-21 compliance period, which will not end until Dec. 31, 2021. The Commission has two more remote meetings scheduled in 2020 and they will monitor and reassess the situation as it relates to recommendations for the 2020-21 compliance period.
