Wednesday, February 27, 2019 (12:00-1:00pm)
Monthly Meeting @ the CBA, featuring Katrina Thompson (Barnes & Thornburg), Hannah Botkin-Doty (Artz Dewhirst & Wheeler) and Aracely Tagliaventi (COTA)

We’ll be talking about what it’s like to be a first-generation lawyer or student. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a first? Sometimes it can feel like others have a leg up knowing other lawyers and having insight into professional networking, but is that always so?

Not a first-gen lawyer? No problem! We’re also discussing how to handle the legal questions you get from friends and family or strangers at cocktail parties. How do you navigate sticky social situations, like when your uncle wants advice about a speeding ticket or a friend wants you to review her lease?

No advance registration required. Feel free to brown bag. Soft drinks available for .75 cents each. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate provided complimentary.

Tuesday, March 5, 2019 (12:00-1:00pm)
Brown Bag Lunch @ the CBA. Topic: Balance and Wellness, featuring Kayla M. Borchers, PT, DPT, Physical Therapist, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute

Better body balance makes it easier to move and helps prevent injury. But it’s a “use it or lose it” kind of thing, which means it’s important to practice balance at all ages.

In this presentation Kayla will be talking about the importance of balance training and its impact on quality of life. Balance is key to all functional movement and injuries and falls can be prevented with Balance Training. Sounds so simple, but many people don’t think about balance until they are faced with an injury that limits mobility.

We’ll learn some simple exercises to help improve balance, as well as tips on what we should be doing each day for better balance. We’ll also explore some stretching exercises for the back, neck and shoulders to help offset the impact of sitting at your computer all day.

This event is FREE for CBA members and guests. Feel free to brown bag. Soft drinks will be available for .75 cents each. (Coffee, tea and hot chocolate is complimentary.)
