Approximately 19,000 deaths were linked to those prescriptions. In America alone, in excess of 40 deaths a day result from painkiller overdoses. California physician Dr. Lisa Tseng was recently convicted and sentenced to prison in connection with three deaths that resulted from her systematic over-prescription of painkillers.
